Nakba48 Global Riders brings together motorcyclists from around the world who believe in action, unity, and truth. We ride to raise awareness, build bridges, and challenge misinformation through compassion and courage.

Founded in 2024, Nakba48 Global Riders is a non-profit network of bikers committed to promoting justice and equality for Palestine. We turn our passion for motorcycles into a movement, using every ride as a statement of solidarity and a call for freedom, dignity, and critical awareness.

The Meaning and Memory of Nakba

What is Nakba?

A story of loss, resilience, and the unwavering hope for return.

For the Palestinian people, the Nakba means "the great catastrophe" and "the humanitarian tragedy." It is a term that describes the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and the destruction of most of their villages and towns in 1948, resulting in the loss of homeland, land, and property, and the establishment of occupation. The Nakba represents a deep and ongoing shock, remaining a symbol of pain, resilience, and hope for return. Additionally, it forms the basis of the Palestinian refugee issue and affects the social, economic, and cultural life of the Palestinian people.

Main aspects of the Nakba:

Displacement and expulsion: Approximately 800,000 Palestinians were forcibly displaced from their homes in 1948, leading to the largest displacement in the 20th century and laying the foundation for the ongoing Palestinian refugee issue to this day.

Loss of the homeland: The Nakba represented the loss of the homeland and the complete loss of lands and properties, as hundreds of Palestinian villages were destroyed.

Societal collapse: The Nakba led to the fragmentation of the Palestinian social fabric and the disintegration of the dominant class of landowners, orchards, and institutions, as well as causing the emigration of skilled individuals.

Collective memory: The Nakba has become an essential part of the Palestinian collective memory, commemorated annually thru demonstrations and protests on May 15 to honor the martyrs and those who lost their homes.

Resilience and hope for return: Carrying the keys inherited from ancestors symbolizes a steadfast hope for returning to the usurped homeland, reflecting the resilience of the Palestinian people.

Continuity: Some see the Nakba as ongoing, as Israeli authorities continue to build settlements, seize lands, and destroy Palestinian homes, leading to continuous displacement and renewed suffering for the Palestinians.

قصة فقدان وصمود وأمل لا ينطفئ في العودة ‎تعني النكبة للشعب الفلسطيني "الانهيار الكبير" و"المأساة الإنسانية"،وهي مصطلح يصف تهجير مئات الآلاف من الفلسطينيين وتدمير معظم قراهم ومدنهم في عام 1948، وما ترتب على ذلك من خسارة الوطن والأرض والممتلكات وتأسيس الاحتلال ، تمثل النكبة صدمة عميقة ومستمرة، وتظل رمزاً للألم والصمود والأمل في العودة، بالإضافة إلى تشكيلها أساساً لقضية اللاجئين الفلسطينيين وتأثيرها على الحياة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية للشعب الفلسطيني.

‎جوانب النكبة الرئيسية:

* التهجير والتشريد: تم تهجير ما يقرب من 800 ألف فلسطيني قسراً من ديارهم عام 1948، مما أدى إلى أكبر عملية نزوح في القرن العشرين وأسس لقضية اللاجئين الفلسطينيين المستمرة حتى يومنا هذا.

* فقدان الوطن: مثلت النكبة خسارة الوطن والفقدان الكامل للأراضي والممتلكات، حيث دُمرت مئات القرى الفلسطينية.

* الانهيار المجتمعي: أدت النكبة إلى تشرذم النسيج الاجتماعي الفلسطيني وتفكك الطبقة المهيمنة من ملاك الأراضي والبيارات والمؤسسات، كما تسببت في هجرة الكفاءات.

* الذاكرة الجماعية: تحولت النكبة إلى جزء أساسي من الذاكرة الجماعية الفلسطينية، وتُخلّد عبر التظاهرات والاحتجاجات سنوياً في 15 مايو لإحياء ذكرى الشهداء والذين فقدوا ديارهم.

* الصمود والأمل بالعودة: يمثل حمل المفاتيح الموروثة من الأجداد رمزاً متمسكاً بالأمل في العودة إلى الديار المسلوبة، وهو ما يعكس صمود الشعب الفلسطيني.

* الاستمرارية: يرى البعض أن النكبة مستمرة، حيث تستمر السلطات الإسرائيلية في بناء المستوطنات والاستيلاء على الأراضي وتدمير المنازل الفلسطينية، مما يؤدي إلى تهجير مستمر وتجديد لمعاناة الفلسطينيين . وهنا يبقى احياء ذكرى النكبة ارث ترثه الأجيال حتى تحقيق الحلم الفلسطيني في العودة وتحقيق حق المصير الذي كفلته
